The River Wye from Glasbury is ideal for family trips with only a few grade 1-2 small rapids. A wide range of wildlife can be seen on the river and around the river banks. On route you can stop at selected places to take a break or have a small bbq. Please note all litter must be taken with you as the river is used by many paddlers, fishermen and of course the wildlife.

Short and sweet

5.5 miles will take you to Hay-on-Wye, about two hours down stream. Hay is famous for its second-hand bookshops, holidaymakers come from all over the world to the `book' capital of britain and now everywhere you look bookshops, printshops and antique dealers make this a great place to visit.

long and winding

11 miles will allow you plenty of time to relax and enjoy a bbq takeaway and some fresh goodies from the River Cafe. Pass under the old tollbridge before you end your trip with a drink at the Boat Inn at Whitney.

Alternatively, try camping or b&b'ing it down the Wye. When you reach your destination you telephone us and we come and collect you in our minibus and return you to your car in Glasbury.
